Birth of the Company
J-Nine Pty Ltd was established 1st July 2004 to fulfill the requirements of a professional business that had grown from small beginnings. The company services the Mackay, Central Queensland area predominantly in the area of electronic security.
To fulfil customer requirements the company operates very closely with other areas of the industry, therefore delivering a very high standard of workmanship.
Roy Powell Security is a fully licensed and insured company which operates on a 24 hour basis 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Personel from all divisions are available 24 hrs a day to assist in any emergency situation. As the customer base is varied and spread over a wide geographical area the company undertakes a comprehensive induction process, for as many organizations as possible, thus ensuring a fast response time to customer requirements.
Roy Powell Security has a commitment to the region to undertake continual training to maintain pace with the rapid advancement in technology. A strong customer focus is maintained with new and existing customers, to use new technology to provide suitable well priced security solutions.
Roy Powell – Managing Director
Roy started his working life as a Qualified Dental Technician. With a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, obtained honours within the training requirements two years running and overall student honours in 1982. Became manager of Tropical Dental Services in 1985.
With a strong ability to detect and repair medical and dental equipment problems, commenced Austek Dental Services in 1986. Purchased Tropical Dental Services laboratory in 1987 and commenced a second business Austek Dental Laboratory Services.
During this time an undertaking to provide security to the premises his customers owned saw an interest in electronic security and the fitting out of many premises with electronic security.
Commercial installations and subcontract work for more established security companies commenced in 1996. A short engagement as Manager for the Mackay region for Chubb Electronic Security in 2000 saw a conversion to full time electronic security.
The opportunity to provide a professional dedicated infrastructure has led the direction of the businesses to its present day status.
